India’s star Badminton player PV Sindhu reaches the All England Open Quarters, romping over Indonesian shuttler Dinar Dyah Ayustine by 21-12 and 21-4. Sindhu had it easy in the game as she dominated the 39th ranked Indonesian shuttler during the second round of women’s singles clash. India’s first silver Olympic-medallist. Sindhu binds promise this victory as she is India’s hope in the championship along with Indian shuttler Saina Nehwal.
The championship was held at Barclaycard Arena. Sindhu has been in great form this year as she has registered 7 wins on the trot. She played like a champion, not giving the Indonesian shuttler a chance in the match to overpower her. Sindhu’s serves were spot on and she never let her guard down for a moment. Sindhu did not let the match enter the third set as she finished the match within half an hour.
Sindhu recently made her mark in the Syed Modi International Championships in January 2017. Before Sindhu it was Saina Nehwal who made it big for India in Badminton. She too is a part of the championship and made a terrific comeback after her Olympic upset. She got the better of Japan’s Defending Champion Nozomi Okuhara by 21-15 and 21-14. She improved her tally of wins registered against the Japanese shuttler, the current score between the two in International Championship is 6-1.
Sindhu had entered this tournament as one of the favourites after a remarkable display in Rio Olympics 2016 Badminton Singles final. She became an immediate sensation after bagging silver medal in Olympics and becoming the first Indian women to do so.
