After the President of Board of Control For Cricket in India, Anurag Thakur and Vice President Ajay Shirke have been expelled from there respective posts by the apex court, Justice R M Lodha termed this decision as a landmark verdict.
Lodha said that he was quite happy after the decision was made as there is no mid way in the implementation of reforms if once ordered by the Supreme Court.
He also added that if BCCI had earlier implemented the orders which where passed on July 2016, this would not have happened.
He said, “It is undoubted that order once passed from the apex court has to be implemented. Had they implemented the SC orders earlier, this day would not have come.
“Unfortunately, the BCCI didn’t follow the orders. Thus, the Supreme Court in ensuring that its July 2016 order be implemented.”
Lodha also mentioned that his report was about structural changes and it had nothing to do with individuals. “People come and they go.”
“It’s a victory for the game of cricket. Administrators are temporary and I am sure the game will flourish,” Lodha said.

Lodha said the Indian board was bound to follow the Supreme Court order as early as July.
“This was logical consequence. The BCCI was bound to follow Supreme Court order in July,” he said.
The Supreme Court on Monday removed Anurag Thakur as the President of the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) for not complying with the SC directive for implementing the Lodha committee reforms. The apex court has also removed Ajay Shirke from the post of BCCI Secretary. The court questioned why prosecution should not be initiated against Thakur. They have also sought a reply from him in this regard.
