India’s star all-rounder Ravichandran Ashwin has a special message after Dharamsala Test win on March 28 and winning the ICC Cricketer of the Year, Garfield Sobers Trophy. The trophy was given to him by ICC for his performance in the 2016-17 season. Ashwin performed really well on Day 3 of the decider for Border-Gavaskar Trophy at Dharamsala.
Ashwin posted a video on his Instagram account thanking his fans for their love and support throughout the season for him and Team India. Ashwin picked up 3 wickets in the second innings of Dharamsala Test helping India bundle out Australia for 137 which meant that the hosts would have to chase a lowly score of 106 which they achieved in a matter of 23.5 overs with 8 wickets in hand, thanks to KL Rahul’s 6th half-century and Ajinkya Rahane’s quickfire 38.

Ashwin recently won the Dilip Sardesai Award as well for his all-around performance on India’s tour of West Indies 2016. Ashwin has performed both with bat and ball throughout the season and played a major role in achieving 7-Test series win on the trot.

Ashwin in his video also thanked his physio for keeping him fit all these Test series which enabled him to take on the opponent and get the better of him. Ashwin recently topped the ICC Bowler Rankings as well only yo be later dethroned by his teammate Ravindra Jadeja who won the Man of the series Award for his performance with both bat and ball.
Ashwin has not been able to perform with bat this season but has impressed everyone around the world with his ability to score runs and rescue his teams from tough situations.
