After waiting for over a month, Indian cricketer Ravindra Jadeja finally met his newborn daughter after he arrived in Indian following a month-long tour. Ravindra Jadeja was with Team Indian in England for the ICC Champions Trophy when his wife Reeva Solanki gave birth to the baby girl. After losing the finals to Pakistan, Jadeja along with other team members headed to the West Indies for the five ODIs and a T20 International.
“It was a special feeling. I don’t realise anything now but as I spend more time with the baby, then I will get more attached. It is a good thing for me and everyone in the family are very happy. Sometimes when I go home, I get bored. So now, I have a toy to play with… it will be a good time pass for me,” said Ravindra Jadeja.
“My mind was diverting for the first few days (when she was born). But when I thought about it, I realised that this (Indian team) too is important. There are very few who get a chance to play for the country. I am very fortunate to be amongst those few ones. There are many people in the family to take care of the baby. So, instead of going home (to see the baby), I stayed back and gave my 100 per cent to help my team win the matches,” Jadeja added.
Team India, however, won the 5 match ODI series against West Indian side by 3-1. But they faced a humiliating defeat in the T20 match as they lost the game by 9 wickets.
The Virat Kohli-led side will now leave for Sri Lanka to play three Test matches, five One-Day Internationals (ODI) and a one-off Twenty20 International. All the three Test matches will be played in Galle, Colombo and Kandy.
