After entertaining the entire world through his batting heroics and his impossible looking shots, the most successful Indian cricket skipper MS Dhoni is all set to start a new inning in his career. According to several media reports, Dhoni would be producing a film which is basically a biopic of Indian hockey legend Major Dhyanchand. It would be based on the life events of ‘magician of hockey’ who is globally famous for his on-field heroics and scoring 400 international goals.
And to represent Dhyanchand on the 70 mm screen, Varun Dhawan has been reportedly chosen for this epic role. The film was announced in 2016 but there were no further developments on the same. The film is said to be directed by Rahul Vaid and would be co-produced by Karan Johar. Earlier, Rahul Vaid refused the script as it didn’t go well with him but presently it seems the things have taken a turn.
A Deccan Chronicle report said,”MS Dhoni has already acquired the rights of the film and might produce it. However, it’s yet not clear whether Karan will be co-producing the film, but Rohit is very much directing the film with Varun.”
If MS is producing the film for sure, then it will be his 2nd engagement with the film industry. Earlier, captain cool’s biopic ‘MS Dhoni – The Untold Story’ was a big hit and proved to be one of the highest earning films of 2016.
While Varun Dhawan, after his blockbuster performance in Badrinath ki Dulhaniya, is busy in shooting for Judwaa 2, which is a remake of David Dhawan’s directorial, along with Jacqueline Fernandez and Taapsee Pannu.
