Team India star opener Rohit Sharma is all set to start the bilateral series against New Zealand from at his home ground, Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai on October 22. Opening the inning alongside Ajinkta Rahane, Rohit played a very good cricket in the series against Australia and is expected to continue his good form against the Kiwis as well. Ahead of the first face-off, Rohit interacted with media personnel and expressed that India would like to replicate their Australia performance against New Zealand.
In the pre-match press conference, Rohit said,
“It’s always special to play in front of your home crowd. It makes you feel good about yourself that you are going to play at the ground where you grew up playing all your age group cricket. It’s good for me personally to start off the series from Mumbai.”

On being asked about the form of the team, Rohit said,
“It depends on how we start and what we want to do as a team. We would like to begin from where we left against Australia. We would like to carry the form ahead against New Zeland as well. Since there was small gap between both the series, the guys are in their groove and I hope we put up the same performance as we did in the last series against Australia.”
