Conserving water is a problem all countries are facing and as today is recognised as #WorldWaterDay, some of biggest names from the cricketing fraternity took to Twitter to send their message across. Leading the bandwagon from the front is cricketing demi-god Sachin Tendulkar and his partner-in-crime from yesteryear, Virender Sehwag. Well, Virender Sehwag always has an opinion on subjects varying from sports to politics and has an uncanny take on things.
March 22 focuses on advocating for the sustainable management of freshwater resources. This is a great initiative. The first International World Water Day, designated by the United Nations, was commemorated in 1993.
There were others from the sporting field as well who took to Twitter to express what they feel about the day with a message:
When you reuse wastewater, you save fresh water. Think before letting this precious resource go waste in your daily lives. #WorldWaterDay

Cricketers or, for that matter, sportsmen have a rigorous schedule. Hence, to be aware of the minutest of things is great. And when the biggest cricketers in India start getting involved in such things, it is noticed and followed by commoners who follow the cricketers to any extent. India, after all, is a cricket loving nation.
