Former Pakistan skipper Shahid Afridi may have bid adieu to international cricket, but his cricketing skills are still phenomenal. The athleticism of this 38-year-old cricketer stunned the crowd present at Dubai International Cricket Stadium, when he plucked an unbelievable catch near the boundary line. His extraordinary efforts earned a wicket for his team, Karachi Kings, against the Quetta Gladiators in the 2nd match of the Pakistan Super League 2018.
The incident occurred in the 13th over when Mohammad Irfan Junior bowled a good-length to Umar Amin who lifted the ball over the head of the bowler towards the boundary line. Afridi, who was fielding nearby, ran towards the ball and grabbed it. When he realised that he might go beyond the boundary rope, he hurled the ball in the air, jumped over the rope, leapt back and completed the catch. And after this magnificent act, Afridi celebrated in his own way – stretching his hands in the air.

Earlier in the game, Kings batted first and put a decent score of 149 runs after losing 9 wickets. The top order performed comparatively well but the lower order failed terribly. In return, the Gladiators managed to score 130 runs in their 20 overs after losing 9 wickets. They fell short by 19 runs and lost the game. The Kings bowlers bowled some decent spells and restricted the opponents successfully.
