Bangladesh star all-rounder Shakib al Hasan landed in a controversy after he got furious during a Bangladesh Premier League (BPL) match. While playing against the Comilla Victorians, Shakib became extremely angry after the umpire turned down his appeal for an LBW in the match. He now has to face the penalty imposed by the Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) for his behaviour during the game.
The incident happened in the 9th over of the second innings when the Victorians needed 74 runs to win off 68 balls. Shakib was on the attack while Imrul Kayes had the strike. The ball hit Kayes’ pads after which Shakib appealed. However, the umpire looked unsatisfied by the appeal and turned it down.
After the umpire refused to give out, Shakib was extremely unhappy and his reactions were dramatic. He was so angry that he even uttered a few cuss words.

And after this entire episode, the cricket board has decided to penalise the former Bangladesh skipper. He has been found guilty of breaching the level 2 offence of the BCB Code of Conduct and has been handed a 50 percent fine on his match fees for his actions.
This comes after he has been on a roll in the tournament. Shakib has been performing phenomenally in the ongoing BPL tournament. He is currently the leading wicket-taker for his team Dhaka Dynamites this year. In a recent face-off with Rangapur Riders, he managed to take five wickets and joined the elite list of bowlers with 3 or more five-wicket hauls in the shortest format of the game. However, his team is at the 5th position with 6 points.
