22-year-old pacer Sompal Kami has become the first bowler from Nepal to pick up a wicket in One Day International cricket on August 1.
Kami achieved this feat during Nepal’s maiden ODI game against the Netherlands at theVRA Cricket Ground, Amstelveen.
Nepal was awarded ODI status by the International Cricket Council (ICC) on March 18, earlier this year.
In the third over of the historic ODI, Kami clean bowled Netherlands opener Daniel ter Braak. Kami bowled a good length delivery, Braak failed to make a contact with the ball as it smashed the stumps.
This was the first wicket for Nepal in the 50-over game.
