India have defeated England by eight wickets in the third Test of the five-match series in Mohali. They have now attained an unbeatable 2-0 lead. Ravindra Jadeja has been adjudged man-of-the-match for his all-round performance. With this win, India stay undefeated at home for 17 consecutive Test matches.
England set a meagre target of 103 runs before India. Parthiv Patel played a blistering knock of 67 runs off 54 balls to steer the team home.

#India have played 17 Test matches at home after December 2012. And they have not lost a Test match. Out of the 17 Tests, they have won 14. The last time it happened was between 1977 and 1980 when they did not lose a home Test for 20 matches.
#Only Gavaskar and Kapil Dev have better records than Virat Kohli. Gavaskar had not lost a Test for 18 matches.
# India have not lost a Test match since August 2015.
# Ravichandran Ashwin has surpassed Sri Lanka’s Rangana Herath as the leading wicket-taker in 2016.
#Parthiv Patel scored a Test fifty for India after 12 years and 45 days. The time gap is the most for an Indian batsman. Before him, Lala Amarnath had scored a fifty in 1946 after a gap of 11 years and 190 days.
# Joe Root has scored at least one fifty against all 9 matches he has played against India.
