Stuart Broad v Kevin Pietersen: Who did the ‘I can’t hear’ act better? — WATCH

Khawaja and Smith are at the crease, trying to get set and go big. Warner was out for 47 and Bancroft for 10

It seems like the Ashes has found its characters this time around as well. Like Kevin Pietersen in 2013, Stuart Broad has also done the ‘I can’t hear’ act on the field of play when he was being jeered by the Australian attendance at Adelaide. The 2013 Ashes was like this also played in Australia.

The Australian crowd is known to be hostile, that year, during the Boxing Day Test, Kevin Pietersen had also got into an altercation with Mitchell Johnson. Pietersen was backing out when Johnson was in his bowling stride and that apparently put off the bowler who could not hold himself back and threw the ball wide of the batsman.

The seems that the witch is back and this time Stuart Broad was at the receiving end. Visitors England have already been thrashed in the 1st Ashes Test at Gabba by 10 wickets and are looking down the barrel. As a team, the belief is missing after such an annihilation. Now, it seems that the Australian crowds are acting as the 12th man in, denting their confidences even more. With the backs to the wall, when Broad was jeered at, he used the same technique adopted by Kevin Pietersen 4 years back and it is yet to be understood it works or not.
