Sydney Sixers batter Ashleigh Gardner has blasted the fastest century in WBBL history as records tumble on the opening day of the new season. She has smashed a breathtaking 45-ball century against the Melbourne Stars on Saturday, eventually dismissed for 114 off 52 balls. Her breathtaking knock was studded with 10 sixes and 9 fours. This is an electrifying start to the new season. Her knock helped the Sixers amass a record-breaking total of 4-242.
The huge score surpassed the highest-ever team total in WBBL history, broken earlier in the day by the Sydney Thunder when they made 6-200 against Melbourne Renegades. She brought up her 50 in just 22 balls, which again happens to be a WBBL record. Then she took 25 more balls to get to the magical 3-figure mark.
