Tamim Iqbal left dumbfounded on the crease as Usman Khan stuns him with an inswinger | Watch Video

Tamim Iqbal had a forgettable tour of Pakistan in the Independence Cup as he could only score 55 runs in three innings against Pakistan

Tamim Iqbal got off to a positive start as he struck three boundaries in the first over of Imad Wasim. But his stay at the crease was once again short-lived as youngster Usman Khan bowled a gem of a delivery to clean him up. Iqbal has not been lucky in the Independence Cup 2017. The Bangladeshi opener got off to good starts but could not make it count. He got out for 18 and 23 in the first and second T20I respectively. The story in the final between Pakistan and World XI was not any different.

Iqbal was under pressure to get World XI off to a good start chasing a target of 184. They needed to get off to a flier and that’s what Iqbal intended to do in the first over of the innings by taking on Wasim and trying to get him under pressure straight away. But Usman troubled him from the first ball. The first ball went past the outside edge off the bat, a good length delivery from the youngster.

On the second delivery, Iqbal tried to use his feet to get to the pitch and hit the ball but Usman pulled the length back and it ended up hitting his pads. On the third ball of the over Iqbal managed to get a single and get off the strike.

But the fifth delivery of the over turned out to be the last one for him on his tour to Pakistan. The good length ball from the left-armer swung into the wickets sharply. The 28-year-old was beaten by the pace of the ball and the swing. The ball skidded into the stumps shattering them.

Iqbal had no clue what had happened and the Pakistan team was celebrating already having gotten the first wicket in the second over already. Iqbal had to go back to the pavilion once again without making a mark.
