Team India have been in great form lately, their batting has clicked in most of the games and it is the reason why they have excelled in ODIs. India’s batting order comprising of No.1 ODI batsman Virat Kohli, in-form Shikhar Dhawan and comeback man Ajinkya Rahane posted a total of 310 for 5 in a rain-curtailed match of 43 overs. With their win over West Indies, India have now become an ODI team with most 300 plus scores. They have surpassed Australia, scoring 96 300-plus scores till date, the previous record was 95.
With the way Indian batting lineup is performing, it can be said that 100 300-plus scores don’t look that far away. India are supposed to play 3 more ODIs in the 5-match ODI series in the Caribbean. With the form Indian batsmen are in 300 seems a regular feat.
Although there will be a constant tussle between India and Australia as there is a little margin between them. Although other teams will take years to get there. After Australia, South Africa are the closest with 77 scores above 300 in ODIs. Surprisingly Pakistan are in the fourth spot (69), followed by Sri Lanka (63), England (57) and New Zealand (51).

Indian skipper scored a quickfire 87 off 66 balls which helped India get past the 300-mark. Before him Dhawan had once again put on a 100-plus partnership for the first wicket, he scored 63 from 59 balls. Rahane grabbed the opportunity given to him with both hands with Rohit Sharma rested for the tour, he scored 103 from 104 balls.
India will be looking to regain the No.1 spot in ICC ODI Rankings with 3 matches left in the ODI series against West Indies. Youngster Rishabh Pant is yet to make his debut in ODIs. If his attacking approach clicks in the Caribbean conditions, there are bound to be more 300-plus scores in the future.
