The support staff of team India, including batting coach Sanjay Bangar and R Sridhar, have recently denied the offer given by the Board of Control in Cricket in India (BCCI). The board offered them a salary hike of 25 per cent but both the officials have refused this deal.
The main reason behind both Bangar and Sridhar denying the offer given by the board is that earlier, both the officials were promised a hike of 100 per cent from the former BCCI chief Lt. Anurag Thakur and secretary Ajay Shirke. But after their sacking and appointment of the new administrative board under the leadership of former Comptroller and Auditor General (CAG) Vinod Rai, new regulations are being followed and all the promises made and reforms implemented by the former management have been cancelled.
As per the reports of The Indian Express, head coach of team India Anil Kumble is paid Rs 6.5 crore annually, while the support staffs are paid grossly under that.
Under the present coaching fraternity, Virat Kohli and Co. has performed phenomenally well in the recent season. The Test team acquired the top of ICC Test rankings with a formidable streak of victories against New Zealand, England and Bangladesh this home season.
Team India, under the captaincy of Virat Kohli, have won consecutively 19 games in six Test series. The skipper himself has displayed all his skills to snatch victory ion every game. While head coach Anil Kumble has played the role of a mentor perfectly, support staffs including batting coach Sanjay Bangar and fielding coach R Sridhar have also played a crucial role in Team India’s success.
