Cricket has yet again proved to be the bridge between India and Pakistan. This time the story hails from the women’s cricket teams. This Indian women team that defeated Pakistan is an experienced outfit, most of the players are playing with eachother for a long time now. So here is what happened…
Kainat Imtiaz posted a photo on Instagram along with Jhulan Goswami and mentioned that she started playing cricket because she was inspired by the Indian captain Jhulan Goswami. That is big, well this is news. This is a classic beyond the border story. In fact it is learnt that she first saw Jhulan in 2005, when the lanky Indian pacer had gone to Pakistan for the Asia Cup. Kainat, then was a mere ball picker.
This is what her Instagram post read:
Let me share a story with you all. In 2005 i saw the Indian team for the 1st time as the Asia cup was held in Pakistan. I was the ball picker during the tornament… I saw @jhulangoswami. The fastest bowler of that time. I was so impressed that i chose cricket as a career. Specificly fast bowling. _ Its a proud moment for me as after 12 years today in 2017 i am playing this ODI World Cup with one of my inspirations and getting more inspired…….
She also went on to meet one of her other inspirations and got photographer with her. She met former Indian women captain Anjum Chopra and her post read, “Its was an honour meeting this legend.”
