Unlike mainstream media, Twitteratis aren't pleased with Supreme Court's sacking of Anurag Thakur

The Supreme Court sacked Anurag Thakur and Ajay Shirke as BCCI president and secretary respectively, for failing to implement Lodha committee reforms.

The Supreme Court on Monday removed Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) president Anurag Thakur and secretary Ajay Shirke for not adhering to guidelines regarding the implementation of Lodha panel reforms. The apex court also decided to initiate contempt proceedings against Thakur by seeking his response as to why
he should not be held responsible for obstructing the implementation of the court’s directions aimed at reforming the world’s richest cricket body. Within minutes of the decision, social media went berserk with differing views being expressed within 140 characters on the judgement by the court.

Senior Congress leader Manish Tewari welcomed the decision by the Supreme Court. He took to social media to do the same.

Some of the Twitter users hailed the move by the Supreme Court of sacking Thakur and Shirke from their posts.

More reactions follow.

However, some people were not at all happy with the Supreme Court’s decision and they vented their ire on social media.

A Supreme Court bench headed by chief justice TS Thakur said that the functioning of BCCI will be looked after by the panel of eminent administrators and requested senior lawyers Fali S Nariman and Gopal Subramanian to assist Lodha panel in the appointment of deserving candidates as members of the administrative committee.
