Virat Kohli has reached another milestone while batting against New Zealand in the 2nd T20I at the Saurashtra Cricket Association Stadium in Rajkot on November 4. Kohli has become the first Indian batsman and 8th across the world to score 7000 runs in twenty20 cricket. He also became the second highest run-getter in T20Is, only second to Brendon McCullum. Before the Rajkot T20I, Kohli had 6990 runs in T20 cricket and 1878 runs in T20Is to his name. Also, during this game, Virat completed 200 fours in Twenty20 Internationals (T20I) and only second to Tillakaratne Dilshan in the world in the list of most number of fours.

He was ahead of Suresh Raina (6,872) who last played a twenty20 match in the 10th edition of the Indian Premier League (IPL) held in April-May, 2017.
Earlier, New Zealand won the toss and elected to bat first. Kiwi openers Martin Guptill and Colin Munro provided the perfect start to the team as they added 105 runs for the first wicket. However, Munro went ahead to score a century and New Zealand posted a massive total of 196 runs by the end of 20 overs after losing just 2 wickets.
