Virat Kohli turned 29 on November 5, 2017, and members of the Indian cricket team have gone a step ahead to make the day special for him. After the 2nd T20I against New Zealand ended, all the players and the support staff gathered to celebrate their captain’s birthday. Kohli’s face was smeared with cake by his teammates after which the BCCI tweeted images of the celebrations. But recently a video of Kohli cutting the cake surfaced on social media and is gaining a lot of attention.
In the video, Kohli could be seen cutting one of the two cakes and he gives the first piece to Shikhar Dhawan who was next to him. However, Yuzvendra Chahal, who was standing on the other side, quickly cut a piece of cake and smeared it on his captain’s face. Kuldeep Yadav joined Chahal in this act. Take a look:
After the entire celebration was over, Virat took to his official Twitter handle to thank his teammates for making his day special. He tweeted,
Thank you everyone for all the love and the wishes.
God Bless you all. pic.twitter.com/DTzlyRiZEM— Virat Kohli (@imVkohli) November 4, 2017
Prior to Kohli’s 29th birthday bash, India had a tough encounter with the Kiwis at the Saurashtra Cricket Association in Rajkot. With Colin Munro’s 2nd T20I career ton, New Zealand set a massive target of 197 runs for the Indians to chase. In return, Team India fell short by 40 runs to win the game. The series is now levelled 1-1 while the final game of the series is scheduled to be played in Thiruvananthapuram on November 7.
