Virat Kohli and Mahendra Singh Dhoni along with Yuvraj Singh and Suresh Raina have made a cut in the top 100 athletes in ESPN’s coveted list. In India cricket is nothing short of a religion and cricketers are its gods, that is exactly how they are treated. ESPN is one of the largest sports brands in the world and they promote and broadcast the biggest sporting events and to be featured by them is an honour to cherish. Cristiano Ronaldo tops this list as the most popular sports star in the world, according to ESPN. He makes $32 million from endorsements and has over 250 million followers on social media. LeBron James, the American ace basketballer is second in this coveted list.
Barcelona star Lionel Messi is third in the list, just behind the basketballer, the FC Barcelona star makes around $28 million from endorsements every year. Well, Roger Federer is at number 4 in the ESPN list.

Virat Kohli, current Indian skipper was at no. 8 last year but probably a dip in form has meant he drops 5 places to 13, which means he needs to sort things, before he plummets further. MS Dhoni , on the other hand was 14 last year and has dropped a place to become 15th in this years standings. The other to Indians Yuvraj Singh and Suresh Raina is at 90 and 95 respectively.
The Indian Cricket team is in England for the ICC Champions Trophy where they will be defending their crown.
