Virat Kohli surpasses Mohammad Shahzad, scores more than 200 fours in T20Is!

Virat Kohli kept running out of partners in the second T20I at Rajkot as Indian top order suffered a batting collapse while chasing a target of 197 runs

Virat Kohli becomes the first Indian batsman to score 200 fours in T20Is. Kohli surpassed Afghanistan wicketkeeper-batsman who had 200 fours in T20Is. Now, the Indian skipper is just second to former Sri Lankan cricketer Tillakaratne Dilshan who has 223 fours in T20Is. Kohli is also the fastest to 200 fours in the format playing his 54th match. He is expected to break this record against Sri Lanka with a three-T20I series coming up at the end of the long tour. Kohli had 199 fours before the second T20I against New Zealand at Rajkot.

Kohli also became the first Indian batsman to score 7,000 runs in T20 cricket. Kohli is behind Dilshan in the most numbers of fours list but he went past him in the highest run-getters in T20I list. He needed only 10 runs to go past Dilshan. He is only second to former New Zealand cricketer Brendon McCullum who has 2,145 runs.

Virat also scored his 18th ODI fifty against New Zealand. The Delhi batsman is currently leading the list of most half-centuries in T20Is.

Kohli turns 29-year-old on November 5. He got out for 65 in the second T20I at Rajkot as the required run rate got too much out of the hand. India lost the match comprehensively as the target of 197 runs turned out to be too good for them.
