Virat Kohli made a goof-up while congratulating Mithali Raj on her world record feat but on his Facebook post, by mistake he uploaded Poonam Raut’s picture. Earlier, Mithali Raj created a world record by becoming the highest run-getter in One Day Internationals by overtaking Charlotte Edwards. Congratulatory messages poured in from all corners. Even the male counterparts hailed her feat, Gautam Gambhir was the first to do so, even Sachin Tendulkar was not far behind in congratulating her world record feat. Mithali Raj scored 69 off 114 balls against Australia, enroute her record. India lost the match by 8 wickets and 29 balls to spare, but Mithali Raj’s this innings will be remembered and hailed as one of the most historic knocks.
But what is the story?
In his congratulatory message to Mithali Raj, Virat instead of uploading Mithali Raj’s picture, he uploaded Poonam Raut’s picture. Poonam Raut was the centurion against Australia, but her valiant effort went in vain. The post that was uploaded 13 hours ago has already garnered 23,ooo likes and counting apart from 2,855 shares. The comments after this post made sure Virat Kohli knew that he made a major goof-up. Virat Kohli apparently is in New York with his alleged girlfriend Bollywood starlet Anushka Sharma, who was in New York for the shooting of her upcoming flick ‘When Harry Met Sejal’.
Here is the talked about post:
The post has been taken off his timeline and is no longer available. He must have realised his goof and hence he reacted by deleting it. The picture that we are showing you is a print-screen.
This is how he captioned it, “A great moment for Indian Cricket, Mithali Raj becomes the highest run scorer in Women’s ODI Cricket History today. Champion Stuff!”
Virat Kohli, in the past has not been seen making such goof-ups.
Virat Kohli will soon be seen leading the Indian team to Sri Lanka for a complete series starting from 26th of July. India will play 3 Tests and 5 ODI’s also a one-off T20I.
