Virender Sehwag makes spelling mistake while wishing Hindi Diwas on Twitter, later rectifies

On the occasion of Hindi Diwas, Virender Sehwag took to his Twitter account and shared a quote by famous Hindi poet Sumitra Nandan Pant to wish people

Former Indian cricketer Virender Sehwag has confirmed that he would be commentating in Hindi during the first ODI that is going to be played between India and Australia on September 17. The game is scheduled to be held at the Chepauk Stadium in Chennai. While posting on Twitter on the occasion of Hindi Diwas, Sehwag expressed his admiration for the Hindi language and at the same time, he confirmed his future involvement in the commentary box.

Sehwag is known to be quite active and vocal on Twitter. He regularly wishes his friends and co-cricketers on their birthdays as well as wishes his followers on any festival or special occasion. This time, on Hindi Diwas, he wrote a post in Hindi and opined that no other language was better.

Every year, September 14 is observed as the Hindi Diwas because on this day in 1949, the Indian Constituent Assembly adopted Hindi language as the official language of the Republic of India. This day is celebrated to promote and relay the importance of the Hindi language.

So Viru Paji took to his Twitter account and shared a quote by the famous Hindi poet, Sumitra Nandan Pant. Take a look:

हिन्दि हमारे राष्ट्र की अभिव्यक्ति का सरलतम स्त्रोत है ! जो बात हिंदी में है वो किसी और में नही! 17 Sept. को हिंदी कमेंट्री !#HindiDiwas . pic.twitter.com/Es30ijpczn

However, there was a minor spelling error in his post. He misspelt the word ‘Hindi’, writing “हिन्दि” instead of “हिन्दी”. But he soon rectified the previous tweet with another in which he spelt the word correctly.

हिन्दी *

Spelling mistakes are bound to happen from time to time but it was fresh to see Sehwag rectifying the error. Above all, it will be fun listening to Virender Sehwag’s commentary when the Tigers and the Kangaroos lock horns in Chennai on Sunday, don’t you think?
