Virender Sehwag met Harmanpreet Kaur, Jhulan Goswami, Veda Krishnamurthy, Ekta Bisht, Poonam Raut and Rajeshwari Gayakwadafter after which he shared a picture on Twitter

Former Indian cricketer Virender Sehwag is a huge admirer of the Indian women’s cricket team. When the Indian eves were playing the ICC Women’s World Cup 2017, he kept on wishing them on their victories on the social media through his unique tweets. And recently, he met some of the women in blue including Harmanpreet Kaur, Jhulan Goswami, Veda Krishnamurthy, Ekta Bisht, Poonam Raut and Rajeshwari Gayakwadafter which he shared a picture in which he could be seen with them.

Last month, the Mithali Raj-led team Indian women performed phenomenally in the 8-team world tournament and reached the finals after 12 long years. They defeated the 6-time world champions Australia by 36 runs in and faced the English team in the finals. Unfortunately, they fell short by just 9 runs and lost the chance to script history. However, their overall performance was commendable and also applauded world wide.

And now, Virender Sehwag hosted the members of the Indian women cricket team after which he took to his official Twitter account and shared a picture. His post revealed how happy he was being with these Indian heroes. He also captioned the picture which said,”What a joy and pleasure to meet these wonderful girls who make us so proud. @ImHarmanpreet , @vedakmurthy, Jhulan, Ekta,Poonam & Rajeshwari.”

After the Indian eves returned, wishes and rewards have been pouring in for them. Captain Mithali Raj received a BMW car while The Indian cricket board (BCCI), too, announced a cash award of Rs 50 lakh each and Rs 25 lakh each for the support staff of the team.
