Virender Sehwag, Sachin Tendulkar and others express sorrow for Elphinstone stampede victims on Twitter

Right after this dreadful incident, people from the cricket fraternity expressed their sorrow for those who had to go through a huge loss

On September 29, the Mumbaikars were left in shock after 22 people reportedly lost their lives and over 30 people were injured in a stampede that took place at Elphinstone railway station’s foot-over bridge. It was reported that due to sudden rain, the people were waiting at the station. Chaos ensued when the downpour stopped as people rushed to go out and a stampede occurred.

Right after this dreadful incident, people from the corners of the country expressed their sorrow for those who had to go through a huge loss. Former Indian cricketer Virender Sehwag took to his Twitter account to pay condolences to the victims. Moved by the incident, Sehwag wrote a long post which said,”Human life is, unfortunately, the cheapest thing. Such a heart-wrenching incident, innocent people dying even after paying taxes. Deepest condolences to the innocent people who lost their lives in the stampede today for no fault of theirs. In the city of dreams, people travel with such high risks. Before anything else, citizens security is the need of the hour, long been ignored.”
