Washington Sundar’s dream finally came true after he became the 9th youngest player to represent India. At 18 year 69 days, he is behind Sachin Tendulkar who tops the list at 16y 238 days to represent the country. This is a big moment for the youngster who has been a part of the U-19 team in the past as well. He was picked for the U-19 team at a tender at of 16 and went on to play in the 2016 Under-19 World Cup. Sundar also became the fourth player to make his ODI debut for India in 2017 after Kuldeep Yadav, Shardul Thakur and Shreyas Iyer (in the previous match).

Sundar came to limelight after Ravichandran Ashwin had to miss out on IPL for Rising Pune Supergiants. He performed really well throughout the season, becoming one of the stars of the playoffs for RPS.
