Lasith Malinga will be featuring in Sri Lanka squad against Australia for three-match T20I series starting

How many times have you seen Lasith Malinga uproot stumps, shatter mics, destroy timber with his fiery swinging yorker, most of all how badly do you miss those toe-crushing deliveries? Well, the wait is over as Malinga, the ‘Slinga’ returns to the Sri Lankan side. His fans will be ecstatic to know that Malinga will be fit to bowl in Indian Premier League (IPL) 2017 for Mumbai Indians as well.

Malinga is all set for his comeback in the Sri Lankan side for three-match T20I series. There is no doubt that the ‘Yorker King’ is in fine form. During practice match against Prime Minister’s XI led by the recently retired Adam Voges, Malinga bowled an unplayable delivery.

Malinga opened the bowling in a T20 practice match. Left-handed opener D’Arcy Short was on the crease. Short was able to survive the first three deliveries without scoring a run but the fourth delivery went straight through the gate rattling the middle stump.

At that very moment, everyone knew that Malinga has returned. The in-swinging delivery proved to be too good for the opener. It seemed like Malinga is announcing his return ahead of the series and IPL 2017 which will be starting April 5. But, before that, he will have to prove his worth in the three-match T20I series against the Aussies.

Malinga had convincing bowling figures in the practice match. He got one wicket in his quota of four overs and gave 26 runs at an economy rate of 6.50. Prime Minister’s XI managed to score 169 for 6, which Sri Lankans chased down with 7 wickets in hand and 17 balls to spare.
