After accepting the mistakes committed during the first test in Pune, Indian skipper Virat Kohli proudly appreciated the work done by the bowlers who carved the road to victory in the second Test of the India vs Australia series in Bengaluru on March 3. While answering the questions asked by the media personnel in the post-match press conference, Virat Kohli said that this particular victory was the best one till date among all the games won in the past.
“The game panned out the way it did and it was an emotional game. We played the game with team spirit and we got to learn a lot from it,” Kohli asked.
While answering a question asked about the team performance, Kohli stated that there was a situation in between where the Aussies might have taken away the game. But, later they played a very good cricket and especially Ravindra Jadeja who took away show and extracted 6 scalps in the first innings.
When the question about the dressing room review system was asked to the India skipper, he furiously replied,”
Speaking about Australia’s activity of seeking dressing room to take a review, he said,”We observed that, told match referee also & umpires that they have been doing this for last three days & this has to stop. There is a specific line while you play on field and you must not cross that. I would never do something like that on the field.”
“A sportsperson commits a mistake on the field on the decision he makes. We take the responsibility of the reviews going wrong but we are relieved that we do not approach the dressing room each time to take a review.
Speaking on KL Rahul’s inning, Virat said,”The last three innings have been his best three innings so far. He will cherish this and understand its value later. Im sure, in the coming games, he will take the team to more consolidated state.”
“We as a team had won many games in the past and after a hiccup in Pune, we are just moving ahead in the series. If we have won the game we must lose together as well.”
