Former Indian batsman Virender Sehwag is back in the headlines, this time not for his witty tweets but as a candidate for Indian cricket team’s head coach. Virender Sehwag, who was mentoring the King XI Punjab in the recently concluded Indian Premier League, is among the six candidates to have applied for the post. Others to apply for the top job are Tom Moody, Lalchand Rajput, Doda Ganesh, Richard Pybus and Anil Kumble. Board of Control for Cricket (BCCI) in India sought applications for the top job after a tiff reportedly erupted between the cricket body and current coach Anil Kumble, who had demanded a hike in salary of players and staff. According to media reports, all is also not well between skipper Virat Kohli and Anil Kumble. There were reports that they disagreed over the inclusion of Kuldeep Yadav into the squad.
As a hardcore Virender Shewag fan, I think the former explosive batsman has all the qualities, characteristics and potential of taking up the job of the Indian cricket team coach.
And if Virender Sehwag is appointed as the coach of the Indian cricket team, then I could imagine that the conversations between him and the teammates would definitely going to be somewhat hilarious. Here are some of the examples of his rib-tickling conversation with the Indian players:
The BCCI’s Cricket Advisory Committee (CAC) comprising Sachin Tendulkar, Sourav Ganguly and VVS Laxman will be conducting interviews and seek presentations to select the best candidate.
