Lord’s Cricket Ground, dubbed as the ‘Mecca of Cricket’, ‘Home of Cricket’ witnessed an unusual sight on September 8. The attraction of Day 2 of the third Test between England and West Indies was James Anderson’s much-awaited 500th Test scalp. Everyone was waiting for the moment while a man of the crowd had different plans altogether. He has chosen a perfect day to propose to his girlfriend and surprise her. The man succeeded in his efforts as the girl agreed to the proposal as the crowd cheered and they kissed each other.
Day 2 was an eventful one at the Lord’s Cricket Ground as Anderson took his 500th wicket as Kraigg Brathwaite and got a little emotional after it, shedding a few tears of joy. Anderson bagged his 501st wicket as well later in the innings before the third session of play ended with an outstanding delivery to Kieran Powell.
Anderson became the first English fast bowler to take 500 or more wickets in Test cricket. Anderson took 2 wickets in the first innings as well. He got rid of Roston Chase on Day 3 as well early in the first innings. England need wickets and Anderson is on song having reached this feat, he might be lethal on Day 3 as well.

The Day 2 of the third Test was an eventful one as Ben Stokes got bowled all hands up by Shannon Gabriel on a no ball. Though Stokes could not make the most of the opportunity as he got out in the same over and that too in a similar fashion.
Post Day 2, Anderson also talked to the press and got a bit nostalgic after taking his 500th Test wicket.
