Rohit Sharma heaped praise upon the young Indian side for their consistency in the ongoing U-19 Cricket World Cup, adding the young colts would surely lift the World Cup because they are getting trained by one of finest batsman in the world, Rahul Dravid.
India’s U-19 team will face Australians in the finals of the U-19 WC at the Bay Oval in Tauranga on February 3. It will be a day-night encounter.
While addressing a press conference after their 1st One Day International (ODI) against South Africa, which Team Blue won, Rohit Sharma said: ‘We’ve been following their journey till the finals. They played some really good cricket.”
“This team has something special in them. With Rahul Dravid being their coach these guys will do their best in the finals,” Rohit said.
Rohit, who has a record of scoring three double centuries in ODI cricket under his name, also praised the Indian U-19 bowling strength, and said: “Their fast bowling has been really impressive. Everybody is talking about the bowling.”

Rohit, however, said that winning a championship is not always easy as it required team effort and hard work.

“I know it’s not going to be easy. Winning a championship is not very easy. Entire team is watching them and on-behalf of all the seniors plays I wish good-luck to them and hope they will bring the U-19 World Cup to India,”he said.
Australia and India have won the title three times each, with a fairly even record in ICC U19 Cricket World Cups when it comes to head-to-head encounters but India have had the edge in recent years as well as in this tournament.

Team India have won all their matches till now in this tournament. They thrashed teams like, Australia in their opening clash, Papua New Guinea, Zimbabwe and Bangladesh, They beat U-19 Pakistan squad in the semis to fix their place in the finals.

Australia, on the other hand, lost one match and won 2 to make it into the finals.
The final match between Australia and India will start at 6 AM IST.
