The game of cricket has been getting more interesting with the course of time as the players have been developing new and unconventional techniques. The way the modern era batsmen improvised their shots were equally amazing. Whether be it Mahendra Singh Dhoni’s helicopter shot, Tillakaratne Dilshan’s ‘Dilscoop’ or be it AB de Villiers’ undefined 360-degree shot, all were terrific. And then came a woman who mixed the games of football and cricket together and invented the ‘Natmeg’ shot which just stunned the world.
English middle order batswoman Natalie Sciver played a shot against the Kiwis in the ongoing ICC Women’s World Cup which was never seen before. A shot which even AB de Villiers would fail to go for. After the nutmeg shot in football, this new shot was named after Natalie and hence, it’s called the ‘Natmeg’ shot.
Natalie did this marvel in the over of Kiwi women spinner, Amelia Kerr. The ball turned and went towards the leg stump. Natalie had to do something as the ball aimed towards her shoes. Thus, she hit the ball between her legs with the closed face of the bat. After she attempted the shot, the ball went to the fine leg and crossed the Deep square leg boundary.

Indeed it was a superb shot which was never seen before in any form of the cricket. We have seen ABD doing marvels across the field with his bat. No baller could speculate which shot he is going to play. But After watching Natalie Sciver’s innovation, we could say that she has beaten Mr 360.
We have seen ABD doing marvels across the field with his bat. No baller could speculate which shot he is going to play. Whenever he steps down the crease or bows down, the ball goes out of the park. Though he is known for his unexplainable shots he plays but after watching Natalie Sciver’s innovation, we could say that she has beaten Mr 360.
Well, for the ABD fans, we bring a few glimpses of few of his shots:
