With the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2018 grand auction around the corner, former Indian opener Virender Sehwag believes that Yuvraj Singh has the capability to perform and can still make a comeback. Sehwag, who is currently the mentor of Preity Zinta-owned Kings XI Punjab (KXIP), has also predicted that the fans would like to see star Punjab players like Yuvraj and Harbhajan Singh in the red jersey in the eleventh season of the IPL.
In an interview with the leading Indian daily, TOI, Sehwag stated that ‘Yuvraj’s talent is intact’ and said,
“Though Yuvraj is not a part of the Indian team currently, but he is an amazing player. He could be a match-winner when he has a good form. Any current player can lose his form. I don’t think we could have a player like him again.”

Sehwag also believes that he’s not far from making a comeback in the Indian dressing room. Sehwag said,
“If Yuvraj performs well in the domestic cricket or passes the Yo-Yo test, then why not? If Ashish Nehra can make a comeback at 36 then why can’t Yuvraj?”

Yuvraj Singh last played an ODI for India in the month of July during the West Indies tour. India won the series but since then Yuvraj has been waiting for his call.
Recently, the eight IPL franchises announced the name of the retained players. Yuvraj, who last played for the Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH), was released by the team as they retained David Warner and Bhuvneshwar Kumar.
