Yuzvendra Chahal unknowingly did a Neymar Jr. on the field in the first ODI against England at Trent Bridge. On the last ball of 28th over of the first innings, Chahal bowled a stock leg spinner to Ben Stokes. The left-handed batsman worked it towards mid wicket and tried to sneak a quick single. Fielder Hardik Pandya aimed for the stumps at non-striker end and missed it. The ball ended up hitting Chahal on the right knee and he rolled like Neymar on the field.
Here’s the video of Chahal’s Neymar moment –

However, it was visible that Chahal had taken a hit and his agony was justified. Whereas Neymar did it to get penalty kicks and free kicks. At times, the defender had barely touched him and the Brazillian forward was already on the ground asking for a foul from the referee.
Here’s how Twitterati reacted to the Chahal-Neymar comparison –
I thought Chahal was doing the Neymar challenge!

Brilliant! Indian cricketer Yuzvendra Chahal just got hit on the knee and rolled around on the Trent Bridge turf as if he’d been felled by a sniper – or, in fact, was Neymar! Top class piss-taking! @SkyCricket #ENGvIND pic.twitter.com/1rk7BGoreJ

Soon enough, the internet turned him into a meme. There was also a report which revealed that Neymar had spent 14 minutes of his time in FIFA World Cup 2018 asking for a foul and faking an injury.
Even Australian cricketer Glenn Maxwell noticed Chahal’s roll on the field and compared him to Neymar on his Instagram story.

Otherwise, it was a fantastic performance from Indian bowlers at the Trent Bridge, Nottingham. On a ground where England piled on 481 runs against Australian not long ago, India bundled out England batting lineup for 268. Kuldeep Yadav starred with a 6-wicket haul followed by Rohit Sharma’s century and Virat Kohli’s half-century giving India a comprehensive win in the first ODI.
