Rohit Sharma, the star Indian opener, left the world in awe after he became the only batsman in the world to get 3 double hundreds in ODI cricket. On December 13, Sharma played a swashbuckling inning against Sri Lanka and scored an unbeaten 208 off 153 balls including 13 fours and 12 sixes. After the game got over, the hitman of the Indian cricket team revealed a big secret about his batting skills. He opened up by saying that he “doesn’t have power like MS Dhoni”.
During a chat session on BCCI.tv after the game, Shastri asked Sharma if he was getting stronger by the day as the sixes he hit were landing out of the park. Rohit replied,
Thanks to our trainer who has been working hard with all of us. My strength is to time the ball. I know that I don’t have power like MS Dhoni or Chris Gayle. I rely a lot on my timing. The balls came into the line and I just hit them accordingly.

On being asked about the best double hundred among the three, Rohit said,
It’s so difficult to pick one out of three as they came at crucial junction of the game. Different scenarios of the games. Against Australia, it was the series decider. I scored 264 which came after a 3 month lay off. I came back after a finger injury and I was nervous. And after losing in Dharamsala, we wanted to come back as a batting unit. I never wanted to throw my wicket. I was determined to bat and hit the balls through the line.
Rohit Sharma shared crucial partnerships with Shikhar Dhawan and Shreyas Iyer and took the score to 392 for 4. He struck 13 fours and 12 sixes in his innings and scored at a strike rate of 135.95. He played an unforgiving inning in the second ODI at Mohali and remained unbeaten for 208 runs from 153 balls.
