Lightning fast stumpings by legendary wicketkeepers like MS Dhoni, Adam Gilchrist, Kumar Sangakkara and Quinton de Kock is common, but have you ever witnessed a wicketkeeper pull off a stumping without the ball in his gloves?
In the T20 Blast game in England, Worcestershire wicketkeeper Ben Cox surprised everyone with this unique, unbelievable stumping.
Cox was standing as bowler Ed Barnard does not bowl with express pace and it does not give the batsman liberty to come down the wicket. Calum Macleod tried to defend an inswinging delivery on the back foot but it took an inside edge of the bat and hit Cox on the pad. The ball was then deflected to his left thigh and onto the stumps.
The Scottish batsman got out in a rather bizarre fashion which increased the pressure on Derbyshire. They were reduced to 20 runs for 3 wickets in the 5th over. Macleod was struggling and scored just 1 run off 8 deliveries he faced.
The batting order collapse led to Derbyshire failing to keep up with the required run rate. Chasing a target of 138, they could only score 121 runs and lost the match by 16 runs.

Earlier, Worcestershire opener Joe Clarke got his team to a respectable score of 137 in the first innings. He scored 76 runs from 53 deliveries including 9 fours and 3 sixes. He held on to one end as wickets kept falling from another. Only Wayne Parnell managed to score in double digits whereas others had a short stay at the crease.
