Blues manager Antonio Conte wants Chelsea players to drink beer after the end of a Premier League match. The 47-year-old Italian boss believes that the popular cold beverage is perfect for the players, as it helps them to rehydrate. This is also because beer helps footballers to recover and calm down after a fixture. He also suggested Coca-Cola as an alternative, in case a beer is unavailable. However, the drink is to be taken immediately after the match and not an hour later. Additionally, the tactician from Lecce has reiterated to his player that only one beer is enough and not more than that.
“After the game, for rehydration, you can drink Coca-Cola, one beer. It’s good for recovery. But one. Not a lot. It’s good. After you finish the game, quickly, not an hour after the end,” claims Antonio Conte. No wonder why Diego Costa was spotted having a beer right after the West Bromwich Albion match. The Italian gaffer has publicly claimed that he is happy for Chelsea player to enjoy a drink after any and every Premier League fixture.
Chelsea is currently the Premier League league leaders with 37 points from 15 games. The Stamford Bridge outfit tonight will travel to the Stadium of Light for their encounter against Sunderland, who are presently languishing at the bottom of the Premier League table. The clash between No. 1 and No. 20 is predicted to be a walk in the park for the Roman Abramovic owned London club. Having lost to Liverpool and Arsenal, 1-2 and 0-3 respectively, Chelsea has turned around their season, they are now on a nine-game winning streak, and will look to oust the Black Cats and make it 10 on 10.
