Former Pakistan cricketer Shahid Afridi got a response from Indian cricketer Gautam Gambhir after the former’s tweet on ‘Indian Occupied Kashmir’, asking for United Nations’ (UN) intervention. Gambhir’s reply was savage as he took a dig at Afridi by calling his dictionary ‘retarded’ and implying that for Afridi, UN is an abbreviation of ‘UNDER NINETEEN’.
Afridi expressed his opinion after 13 militants were killed in an anti-terror operation in Kashmir. Here’s what Afridi tweeted:
Appalling and worrisome situation ongoing in the Indian Occupied Kashmir.Innocents being shot down by oppressive regime to clamp voice of self determination & independence. Wonder where is the @UN & other int bodies & why aren’t they making efforts to stop this bloodshed?

The Delhi Daredevils’ (DD) skipper, who is not well these days according to teammate Prithvi Shaw, did not mince words while responding to Afridi:
Media called me for reaction on @SAfridiOfficial tweet on OUR Kashmir & @UN. What’s there to say? Afridi is only looking for @UN which in his retarded dictionary means “UNDER NINTEEN” his age bracket. Media can relax, @SAfridiOfficial is celebrating a dismissal off a no- ball!!!

This is not the first time that Gambhir and Afridi engaged in a ‘war of words’. In a match between India and Pakistan at Kapur in 2007, the two physically ruffled each other up. Gambhir was running towards the non-striker’s end and Afridi was in his follow through. The two were even fined after the whole episode.

Gambhir will be leading DD in Indian Premier League (IPL) 2018 after a long gap. He will be leading them in the second match of the season against Kings XI Punjab (KXIP) on April 8 at Dharamsala.
