Virat Kohli-led India register victory over Bangladesh in one-off Test by 209 runs at Hyderabad. Ravichandran Ashwin took the wicket of tailender Taskin Ahmed to register India’s sixth series win on the trot. India’s unbeaten run continues, it is their 19th Test without a defeat. This was Bangladesh’s first Test against India on Indian soil. The two teams have played 9 Tests till date out of which India have won 7 and 2 were drawn. Kohli was awarded man of the match for his double century.
The visitors needed 356 runs to win with 7 wickets in the hand at the start of Day 5. They lost the wicket of Shakib Al Hasan early in the first session as Ravindra Jadeja drew first blood. In-form bowler Ravichandran Ashwin got the wicket of first innings’ centurion Mushfiqur Rahim. Rahim tried to take on Ashwin but could not even clear the 30-yard circle.
In the third session, Bangladesh lower-order tried hard to block as many balls as possible and play out the session. Mehedi Hasan fell prey to Jadeja. It was just a matter of time before Taijul Islam and Taskin Ahmed got out. Kamrul Islam Rabbi remained not out for 3 from 70 deliveries.
For India, Ashwin picked up 4 wickets for 73. Jadeja too took 4 wickets giving 78 runs. Ishant Sharma bowled a fiery spell, he picked up 2 wickets. Sharma bowled with short deliveries with raw pace to deceive batsmen.

In the second session, Sabbir Rehman and Mahmudullah tried to hold the fort. Mahmudullah scored his 13th half-century. Ishant got the wicket of Rehman with an inswinging delivery. Mahmudullah followed him, trying to pull the ball towards short leg, Bhuvneshwar Kumar took an easy catch to help India get the seventh wicket.
Bangladesh needed 459 runs in the fourth innings to win Hyderabad Test. They got off to a terrible start as opener Tamim Iqbal fell early. Ashwin came in and took the wicket of Mominul Haque as soon as he came into the attack.
