Indian Hockey team continued their dominant run at the Asian Games 2018. The ball was barely in India’s half as they kept on attacking and scoring throughout the game. India scored a total of 20 goals in their last league game. Every time India took a penalty corner, it seemed like they will score and 7 out of 16 times they did.
India have now scored a total of 76 goals in the final, which means, they have scored one goal in every 3.94 minutes. They started the campaign with a 17-0 win over Malaysia followed by an even bigger win against Hong Kong beating them by 26-0. Against Japan too, India did not concede and ended up piling on 8 goals.
The goal difference was decreased to just two goals when India took on Korea winning the match by 5-3.
The game against Sri Lanka was so one-sided that after a point, the Indian players stopped celebrating goals. Indian skipper and goalkeeper PR Sreejesh decided to take off his gear and join the attack to increase the lead.
The scintillating performance against the Sri Lankans led to jokes on Twitter:
Sri Lanka should file a case against India for their violent behaviour towards them
