Shikhar Dhawan meets with a 'minor bike accident' ahead of Australia series. Watch video

Zoravar rammed his bike into Shikhar Dhawan. Dhawan is injured as he takes evasive action but then gets back on his feet

Shikhar Dhawan, one of the best batsman in the current Indian line-up, has shown a great and consistent form and is in a purple patch. After whitewashing Sri Lanka, Virat Kohli-led Indian cricket team is readying up for the Aussie challenge, which promises to be a clash of the two cricketing giants. Shikhar Dhawan, who bagged the Man of the Series award in Tests versus Sri Lanka, flew back to India in between the One Day International series to be beside his ailing mom. But 6 days ahead of the first ODI versus Australia, questions are now being raised over his availability in the team. Shikhar Dhawan’s son Zoravar is quite a mischievous lad but is loved in the Indian team. The Indian cricketers play with the little one on tour and he has rather become a stress buster of sorts for the Tigers. Shikhar Dhawan is an important cog in Virat Kohli’s scheme of things and hence Dhawan fit and in form could mean everything for team India and their future.

So what has happened to the maverick southpaw?

Well, in an Instagram video uploaded by Shikhar Dhawan, he can be seen taking a stroll in a park in the company from his son Zoravar, who is on a bike. Shikhar is wrapped in a shawl, which indicates that wherever he is, it is quite cold (perhaps abroad). After walking for about 10 metres, Zoravar rams his bike into Shikhar Dhawan. Dhawan looks injured as he takes evasive action but then gets back on his feet. We really do not know the magnitude of the injury, but at the first glance, it looks minor.

If he is ruled out of the tournament, which is highly unlikely, India will be in trouble as that will mean that they will have to put immense efforts to disturb a phenomenal Australian top order. That certainly could upset the scheme of things for Virat Kohli. Shikhar Dhawan made a comeback to the team during the Champions Trophy and has since not played on a wrong foot. He has been a major run getter for India and the home team would be in a crisis if he is declared unfit to play the series.
