India took on Sri Lanka today at the Oval in the ICC Champions Trophy 2017 league match. Sri Lanka won the toss and opted to field first, knowing Indians are good chasers. Matthews came back into the side, which is bound to bolster their batting line up. India got off to a decent start, Rohit Sharma and Shikhar Dhawan made sure they did not allow early wickets because the idea was to power it up in the end. Rohit Sharma and Shikhar Dhawan got to 136 before India lost its first wicket in the form of Rohit. Rohit departed for 78 off 79 balls. But what happened next was just not expected.
Virat Kohli, India’s captain and mainstay of the batting went for a duck. Even when Virat fell, India knew they were handsomely placed and there was nothing to worry as such. Yuvraj who walked in next did not make a stark contribution, India lost Yuvraj Singh for 7 runs. India had lost 3 wickets in quick succession.

But Shikhar Dhawan’s marathon knock came to an end when he tried to up the ante. He got dismissed for 124 whwn India was 261 in the 45th over.
