Australia will be touring India for a four-match Test series starting February 23. All eyes will be on Steven Smith-led Australia on whether they will be able to put and end to India’s unbeaten streak of 19 Tests. India have also won their 6th series on the trot. Virat Kohli has been making records one after the another as he became the first Indian captain with 19 Tests without a defeat. Kohli surpassed Sunil Gavaskar’s record of 18 Tests without a defeat.
Captain Kohli has scored double hundreds in four consecutive Test series. He became the first to achieve this feat surpassing Sir Don Bradman’s record of 3 double hundreds. India won the one-off Test against Bangladesh at Hyderabad with ease.
It will be a tough task for Australian batsmen to go up against Indian spinner Ravichandran Ashwin who became the fastest to 250 Test wickets in 45 Tests, surpassing Dennis Lillee’s 36-year-old record of 48 Tests.
If Kohli manages to lead India to another series win without a defeat, he will surpass former Australian skipper, Ricky Ponting’s record of 22 Tests without a defeat.
