Star Indian spinner R Ashwin put up another stellar performance as he scalped 7 New Zealand wickets to scuttle their run chase. India won the match by 321 runs. They also won the series 3-0 runs.
Ashwin took an overall 13 scalps in the match. He got the Man of the Match for this performance. He also became the Man of the Series.

New Zealand literally needed a miracle to save the match as India posted a formidable total of 475 runs.
India set the target of 475 runs with the help of Cheteshwar Pujara’s ton. Gautam Gambhir also played a brisk but important knock of 50 runs.

New Zealand in reply lost an early wicket when Umesh Yadav got Latham LBW.
Later, Ashwin completely demolished any challenge that New Zealand batsmen were putting up. Ravinder Jadeja also took two wickets to complete the annihilation.
The Kiwis were bundled out for a paltry 153 runs in their second innings.
