Team India sets up a clash with arch-rivals Pakistan in the final of the ICC Champions Trophy 2017 cricket tournament after they crushed Bangladesh by 9 wickets in a one-sided second semi-final match at the Edgbaston Cricket Stadium in Birmingham on June 15. India to play Pakistan on June 18 at The Oval.
Chasing 265 to win after electing to field first, the defending champions did not flinch for one moment as Rohit Sharma scored his 11th career ton (123 not out) and captain Virat Kohli notched up his 42nd fifty (96 not out) to stitch up an unbeaten 178-run partnership for the second wicket. India won the match with 59 balls to spare.
On the other hand, Pakistan became the first team to reached into the ICC Champions Trophy final after thrashing hosts England by eight wickets in the first semi-final at the Sophia Gardens in Cardiff on June 14.
Meanwhile, excited for the battle Pakistani media started calling the India vs Pakistan final as the ‘Super Final’. In on one of the news channel and anchor while reading the news about India-Pakistan clash has urged the Sarfaraz & Co. to beat India and take all their revenge.
This is for the for time in their history that Pakistan entered into the finals of ICC Champions Trophy, while India will be playing in the finals for the fourth time. They had lifted the trophy twice in 2002 and 2013.
Legendary cricketers like Sachin Tendulkar, Virender Sehwag, VVS Laxman and several others took their Twitter handle to wish good luck to team India for their clash with Pakistan.
