Shardul Thakur debuted in the 4th One Day International versus Sri Lanka and put up a good show by taking his debut wicket. Virat Kohli-led team India is on a roll after whitewashing the hosts in the Tests, as they are on the verge of repeating the result in coloured jerseys as well. India beat Sri Lanka by 168 runs to take a 4-0 lead in the series. Now, it is an uphill task for Sri Lanka to qualify for the 2019 cricket World Cup as they have lost their opportunity to make a direct cut. Now, they will have to fight it out to fly to England in 2019.

But what caught everyone’s attention was Shardul Thajur wearing the iconic jersey number 10, which Sachin Tendulkar used to wear during his active days. For some, it must have been a moment of deja-vu, but the rest got offended to see somebody else don the same jersey number. Sachin Tendulkar fans could not digest this fact and lambasted at the debutant on Twitter. Some of the reactions were harsh but with time we expect Shardul Thakur to get used to it as it seems that he’ll have a promising future ahead of him.

Hopefully, the youngster will get used to it because he wears the jersey of a player who is considered nothing short of a God.

While talking to media Shardul said the total of his birth date is 10 and that is why he chose the number 10 jersey.
