Could have been a rain-curtailed match but it started, RCB won the toss and opted to field first, obviously looking at Duckworth-Lewis and all that. Gambhir tried to steer one to third man, gloving one to Kedar Jadhav. He departed for 14.
Narine’s picnic then was cut short by Binny. Uthappa, Pathan and Pandey could not show resistance, they departed early for 11, 15 and 8 respectively, that shattered KKR. Grandhomme did not even open his account. KKR were looking down the barrel after such a collapse.

Chahal was the pick of the bowlers, he picked up a 3-fer. He changed the match on its head. Woakes and Suryakumar then got their heads down and started looking for singles and twos, trying to resurrect the innings. Suryakumar then started showing his creativity, which only he can, he started sweeping pacers. Finally, Chris Woakes looking to up the ante, got caught out in the deep for 18. No one apart from Narine actually got going. After 17 overs, KKR were 122. They were looking to post at least 145-150. Nathan Courter-Nile fell trying to clear the ground and then Yadav fell of the very next ball. KKR post an under-par 132, RCB need 133 to win. Narine was the top-scorer for KKR, so surprising.
