IPL 10: Glenn Maxwell issues an apology on Twitter for Kings XI Punjab fans!

Kings XI Punjab lost the match against Delhi Daredevils in Match 14 by a big margin of 51 runs at Feroz Shah Kotla Stadium, Delhi

It seems like Kings XI Punjab’s (KXIP) new captain Glenn Maxwell understands the burden of captaincy and knows he is answerable to his team’s supporters. We got a proof of his matureness after his team were brutally pounded by Delhi Daredevils at Feroz Shah Kotla Stadium in Match 15 of Indian Premier League (IPL) season 10. KXIP lost to DD by a huge margin of 51 runs as they never looked in control of the fixture.

After the match, Maxwell took to Twitter as he felt obligated to his fans for the loss his team suffered. Not only Maxwell apologised to his fans for the loss against DD but the previous match as well where they lost to Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) which Gautam Gambhir Co won by 6 wickets with 21 balls to spare.

Sorry to all the @lionsdenkxip fans! We haven’t been good enough the last 2 games. Need to do the basics better for longer. We’ll be back!

Maxwell had a bad day at work as he lost the toss which was crucial in the beginning. His strike bowlers Sandeep Sharma and Mohit Sharma could not work their magic. Even after taking wickets at regular intervals DD managed to post a big total of 188 for 6 in the first innings.

KXIP never looked dominating while chasing as they lost early wickets. Their star overseas players Hashim Amla, David Miller and Eoin Morgan too failed as they struggled to hit boundaries. Glenn Maxwell too came in but it was too late for them already.

Maxwell came into bat when the score was 4 for 64 at the end of 10 overs. KXIP needed a Maxwell special but he failed to deliver getting out on the second ball in an attempt to hit a maximum off Amit Mishra in 11th over.
