The game number 12 of the Indian Premier League 10 was the biggest one for the Royal challengers Bangalore squad and the fans too as the lion was back to the den. Skipper Virat Kohli, who couldn’t join the team right from the beginning as he suffered an injury in his shoulder in the recently concluded Border-Gavaskar Trophy between India and Australia. The entire nation was eagerly waiting for him and now when he is back in action against the Mumbai Indians, it seems that the actual Indian summer cricket bonanza has begun today.
The fans would also be thankful to Rohit Sharma who won the toss and invited Virat and Co. to bat first. The entire Chinnaswamy stadium was already packed to watch their hero and they were lucky enough as Kohli himself came to open the Bangalore innings along with Chris Gayle. And after watching Kohli’s damn good performance, nobody could ever say that this is the man was injured a few days back.
Kohli charged the MI bowlers brutally right from the beginning. In the third over, when Tim Southee came to bowl, Kohli beat him so harsh that a total of 17 runs came off the over. The over stats were – 6, 2, 4, 4, 1, 0. Kohli didn’t look back from that point of time and kept on leading from the front. His bat was yelling runs like a gun blazing bullets. He had no mercy on the MI bowlers and kept on scoring along with Chris Gayle in the beginning and then with AB de Villiers.
After hitting 5 fours and 2 sixes, Kohli played the captain’s knock and score the first half-century in his very first game. Virat got dismissed by Mitchell McClenaghan after he scored 62 off 47 balls. This batting stint of Virat Kohli was thoroughly enjoyed by the crowd present on the ground while the Twitter blasted like never before
